But back in 2012, that's exactly what you did when you interviewed a band at the Orion festival in Atlantic City, New Jersey.  Unfortunately I didn't get the opportunity to shoot these guys playing their set, but I did manage to capture the post-rock interview conducted by photojournalist Josh Pelta-Heller.  Super friendly and accommodating, it was a pleasure to document and listen in on. </div> kayak or canoe, as well as Fort Ticonderoga and of course endless wildlife; turtles, snakes, salamanders, fish, bear, mosquitoes, you name it.  It also has some of the most amazing scenery around. amazing.  Tons of Bald Eagles roosting here, and the real magic happens when they periodically release water from the dam into the river.  This has the effect of churning up fish as they're sucked through.  That's when the eagles descend to scoop up the free floating fish tacos.  Nine times out of ten there's a second bird who'd rather snatch the fish from the first guy's claws.  The only downside to Conowingo is that all the action happens far away from where you're standing; real far.  Ideally, you'd use the Hubble.  But since it's floating derelict in space, you're left to fend for yourself with whatever you happen to have.  In my case, I was lucky enough to shoot with a borrowed 800mm prime.  Unfortunately the lighting was terrible the day I went.  Under better circumstances, and photographing the very bands that helped define one's youth.  That's what it was like for me to shoot Jane's Addiction at The Mann.  A surreal experience.  The only real problem with this, is that as a 'professional' photographer with a pit pass, you're only allowed to shoot the first three songs of the set.  Once your time's up, a group of sweaty, frantic security enforcers hurriedly usher you out, as though something terrible would happen if heaven forbid you were there slightly longer.  This results in a frantic scramble for pictures, all while struggling with constantly variable himself.  Featuring a host of performers and DJ's, it was quite a fascinating experience.  90 degrees out, with 100% humidity.  You felt lucky when you got shot with one of the hundreds of water guns in attendance.  The vast majority of the crowd was either drunk or high, or both.  But naturally this made for some interesting photographs, so I wasn't complaining. <div> <a the old 'you pick' junkyard in Tabernackle, NJ.  Came out with some fairly interesting stuff.  The burnt, blackened doll's head freaks me out the most though.
